Powerglide Years 1981
 
In 1981, the band decided to add a second guitarist in addition to Art. After much searching, local musician Rod Knowlan was picked for the position. It was also the band’s decision to rename the band POWERGLIDE, in view of the fact that the present configuration was no longer Sparkling Apple. Several months later, after an Alberta tour and Vancouver appearances, the band split up amicably. Two years later, the band reformed with Buzz, once again called Sparkling Apple -- but due to lack of gigs and changing trends, the band once again called it a day.
